This privacy policy applies to all websites operated by ThinkTank Verlag. This website defines the nature, manner and purpose for which personal data is used when visiting our website.
By agreeing to the following Privacy Policy, you consent to the collection, processing and use of your personal data in compliance with applicable data protection laws and the following provisions.
You can print this Privacy Policy (see below).
This Privacy Policy from the ThinkTank Verlag, Ingrid Famula, Perhamerstr. 32, 80687 (hereinafter referred to as “ThinkTank Verlag”, “we” or “us”) applies only to content contained on online platforms operated by ThinkTank Verlag (hereinafter referred to as a “Platform”). - Controller
The controller at ThinkTank Verlag responsible for the collection, processing and use of your personal data within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the Federal Data Protection Act is:
ThinkTank Verlag, Ingrid Famula, Perhamerstr. 32, 80687 Munich
- Personal data
Personal data is information about the factual or personal circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes, for example, your name, your telephone number, your address, your e-mail address, the IP address used by you and all basic data that you provide to us within the scope of using our services.
Statistical data which we collect for example when you visit our website and which cannot be associated with you personally do not fall within this scope. For example, this includes statistics on which categories of content on offer are particularly popular or how many users visit certain content.
We only use personal data within the framework of these provisions and such use is governed by the provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation, the Federal Data Protection Act and the Telemedia Act. All data protection regulations are strictly observed.
- Collection and processing of personal data
We use the information collected for the following general purposes, although not all information is actually used for all purposes: We use the personal data (basic data) stored in your user account to establish and administer the user relationship or to process any orders.
We use data related to your use of the service (usage data) for technical processing and, if necessary, for billing purposes.
When you visit our website, our web server temporarily collects and stores technical information (so-called log files) that your browser transmits to us: the IP address of your computer, the time stamp (date and time to the second), your file request (URL) and the http response code. Data collected in this manner is used for data security purposes, in particular to defend against attacks and to stabilize operational reliability, and for statistical evaluation. This data will be deleted or anonymized after 14 days at the latest. In the case of anonymization, IP addresses are changed in such a way that the individual details about personal or factual circumstances can no longer be associated with an identified or identifiable natural person, or can only be so associated with a disproportionately large expenditure of time, money and effort. The log files are neither used for the creation of individual user profiles nor are they passed on to third parties.
Information on data stored in cookies can be found in Section 5.
In addition to processing your data to process your purchase with us, we also use your data to communicate with you about your order, certain products or marketing campaigns and to recommend products or services that may be of interest to you. As our customer, you will occasionally receive product recommendations from us by e-mail. Our intent in doing so is to provide you information about products from our assortment that may be of interest to you based on your most recent purchases from us. We strictly adhere to applicable legal requirements.
The legal basis for these processing operations is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR, whereby our legitimate interest lies in informing existing customers about comparable products and services. Information on your right to object can be found under Section 8.
In addition, we and our partners may evaluate usage profiles under a pseudonym (which cannot be merged with the data in your user account) for advertising, market and opinion research and to improve the service (pseudonymized usage data), unless you have exercised your statutory right to object to this use of your data. Such usage profiles are generated by means of so-called cookies (see Section 5) for example. By analyzing and evaluating this information, we are able to improve our website and services, and to make our advertising more valuable and interesting for you.
You agree that we may use data you provide to us along with other information stored about your user account, as well as pseudonymized usage data, to present personalized advertising and/or special offers and services to you or have them presented to you (e.g., through newsletters or advertising-related e-mails).
We may also use your data for market- and opinion research. Of course, we use this data exclusively in anonymous form for statistical purposes and solely for own purposes. Your responses to surveys will not be published or shared with any other third party. We do not store the responses from our surveys in conjunction with your email address or other personal information.
You hereby agree that we may process and use your personal data for market and opinion research for our own purposes.
- Disclosure of data
We will only share your personal data if:
- Transmitting your data to contract processors is necessary to enable the use of our offer. It is therefore possible that we will transmit your personal data to our hosting service provider and website operator in this context. If you have subscribed to a newsletter, it is possible that the data required for processing this request will be shared with a service-provider we use for this purpose. Data shared in this context may only be used by our service providers for the performance of their respective task. No other use of this information is permitted nor do any of our service providers make any such other use; some of our contract processors are based in third countries, but give appropriate guarantees (EU standard contract clauses) in accordance with Art. 47 GDPR.
- In exceptional cases, we are legally obliged to transfer data to a government agency making such a request.
Otherwise, we will not pass on any data to third parties unless you have expressly consented.
